The aims of Swindon Clinical Commissioning Group are:
- to make sure decisions about improving healthcare in your community involve the public, patients and GP practices
- to make sure all healthcare providers contribute to improving the health of the people in Swindon
- to develop health services that meet the needs of the community
- to show its commitment to the NHS Constitution by offering an informed choice of provider wherever possible
How is success measured?
- the life expectancy of the general population of Swindon and Shrivenham will rise
- fewer patients will need to be admitted to hospital, as they will be cared for in more appropriate settings
- all parts of the NHS will work more closely together to deliver early care for patients
- cancer survival rate will be in line with the rest of England
- patients will have better understanding of their own health conditions
