NHS Swindon Clinical Commissioning Group (SCCG) is delighted to confirm the appointment of Nicki Millin as its new Accountable Officer.

Nicki is currently Acting Accountable Officer for SCCG and has worked in the NHS for the past 29 years. She was previously Chief Operating Officer for SCCG until the end of April this year, when she moved to the role of Acting Accountable Officer.  Nicki’s previous roles include: working as an Occupational Therapist in a number of clinical areas before moving into commissioning, initially with Gloucestershire Health Authority and then in a number of different commissioning organisations as the architecture of the NHS has changed.  Her main areas of responsibility have been in commissioning (mental health, children’s services, and urgent care), performance management, service redesign, contracts management, procurement and planning.  Prior to coming to Swindon Nicki worked for NHS England as the Head of Assurance and Delivery across the Bath, Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire area.

Dr Peter Crouch, Clinical Chair of the CCG, said: “Nicki Millin has been an integral part of the CCG’s development since she joined the organisation as Chief Operating Officer and we are delighted to appoint her as our new Accountable Officer. As a CCG we are committed to commissioning high quality services that local people deserve and I am confident that Nicki’s appointment will allow us to continue this important work.”

Nicki said: “I am passionate about Swindon and Shrivenham and making a real difference to the health of the people who live here. We need to do more to improve patients’ experiences of care and to make sure that services are better integrated to meet the needs of those people with greatest need. I’m confident we are well placed to meet these challenges by working more closely than ever before with our partners in both the NHS and local government.

“We have an excellent team, both clinical and managerial, with an existing track record of progress and success. I very much look forward to working with Swindon CCG in my new role.”
