Illness and injury rarely take time off at Christmas, but neither do many of the medical establishments in Swindon and Wiltshire. 

A nationwide campaign to help parents spot the symptoms of sepsis to protect young children and save lives has been launched today by Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt.

Now we are well in to December and it is the countdown to Christmas, local health experts are advising patients not to leave it too late to order and collect their repeat prescriptions. As many GP practices will have limited opening hours between Christmas and New Year Holidays, patients are advised not to leave it too late to order any repeat prescriptions they may need over the festive period. 

Staff at Swindon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have this week backed the week-long #jabathon flu campaign.

Led by NHS Employers, #jabathon aims to drive up the number of healthcare staff who have the flu vaccination this winter.
