NHS Swindon Clinical Commissioning Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Peter Mack as their new Clinical Chair from 25 November 2016 following a recruitment process.

Peter has been a GP in Swindon for over 20 years and is the senior partner of Moredon Medical Centre, a modern, 11,500 patient practice in North-West Swindon. Peter has been a member of the CCG and predecessor organisations, including Swindon PCT and Swindon Primary Care Group. Peter was previously the Vice-Clinical Chair of the CCG and Locality 2 Clinical Chair since the CCG began in April 2013.

Dr Peter Mack said:

“I am delighted to be taking on the challenge of this new role. I am looking forward to working with my GP colleagues and building on the work that has already been done over the last three years since the CCG was set up. My priorities will be to help articulate a vision for the future for primary care and our CCG at the heart of the local NHS, as well as working with our partners across the NHS and in social care.”

Welcoming Peter’s appointment, Accountable Officer, Nicki Millin said:

“Peter has substantial front line experience as a practising GP, but is also a trusted and respected clinical leader, within the CCG and across the local health and social care community. I congratulate Peter on his appointment and look forward to working with him and our health and care partners as we face the challenges and opportunities of the future.”

Dr Mack takes up his appointment with immediate effect and his term of office is 4 years.
