Some patients who need help getting to and from hospital may be able to arrange free transportation to their appointments by calling the Patient Transport Advice Centre (PTAC).

Open weekdays between 8.30am and 6.30pm, PTAC will assess individual requests before deciding whether or not a patient qualifies for help with getting to where they need to be.

If a person is eligible for transportation, their journey will be booked by the PTAC team and provided by Arriva Transport Solutions Ltd.

However, if a patient does not meet the criteria needed for free transportation, staff will be able to discuss with that person what other potential options are available.

To find out if you, or someone you know, qualifies for free non-emergency patient transport, contact PTAC using the telephone number below:

Patient Transport Advice Centre: 01278 727401

Before calling, patients should ensure they have their 10-digit NHS number to hand.
