From Saturday 1 June, there will be a new provider of non-emergency patient transport across Bath and North East Somerset, Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire.

E-zec Medical Transport Services Ltd will take over the service from current provider Arriva Transport Solutions Ltd.

Despite the change in provider, the way in which patients access transport to hospital for appointments or other routine visits will not be changing.

Patients in Swindon should continue to call the Patient Transport Advice Centre using the existing 01278 727401 number to book their transportation.

The booking office, which will also assess whether is person is eligible for free transport, is open on weekdays between 8.30am and 6.30pm.

Non-emergency patient transport is an NHS-funded service which supports people who, due to their mobility needs or current medical condition, are unable to make their own way to hospital.

The service is not intended to be used for patients requiring urgent or emergency hospital care, nor is it designed to take people to locations in the community not linked to healthcare.
