A carer is anyone who provides unpaid care for a friend or family member who - due to illness, disability, mental health problem or addiction - cannot cope without support.

Anybody can be a carer, regardless of their age, sex, gender or individual health conditions.

It is estimated that there are more than 21,000 carers living in Swindon, with research showing that their combined efforts save the local economy more than £395 million each year.
