Journeys booked under the non-emergency patient transport service will be provided by Arriva.

A driver from Arriva will collect patients from their home and stay will them until they reach their destination.

Should the patient arrive at their appointment early, the driver will stay with them so they are not waiting alone.

If the journey is delayed for any reason, the driver will call ahead to inform the hospital or clinic.

As there will often be more than one patient travelling in the vehicle, space for friends and family is limited.

When patients are booking their journey through the Patient Transport Advice Centre (PTAC), they will be asked whether or not somebody will need to accompany them.
