There are many ways in which local people can get involved in work of the CCG.

Join the Patient and Public Engagement Forum

Any person living or working in Swindon and Shrivenham can join the CCG's Patient and Public Engagement Forum.

Members of the PPE Forum meet on a regular basis and work closely with CCG staff - as well as representatives from local voluntary groups, Healthwatch Swindon and Swindon Borough Council - to hold the CCG to account, and to share their views on any matters relating to healthcare services in Swindon.

Answer surveys

The CCG regularly calls on the local population to give their opinions on its current work and future plans through the use of online questionnaires and surveys.

All active surveys and questionnaires are advertised through the CCG website, and also its social media pages.

Join a patient participation group

Nearly all GP practices in Swindon and Shrivenham have a patient participation group, in which local people can get more involved in the work of their local practice, while also using their personal experiences to help shape the way services are provided.

More information on patient participation groups can be found by contacting each GP surgery directly or by speaking to a member of the team at Healthwatch Swindon, which oversees all PPGs in Swindon and Shrivenham.

Attend one of the CCG's publicly-held meeting

The CCG's Governing Body and Primary Care Commissioning Committee meetings are open to anybody that wishes to attend.

People can submit questions in advance, with the answer then read out in public during the meeting.

More information about the Governing Body meetings can be found by clicking here.

Get involved with Healthwatch Swindon

Swindon CCG regularly works in partnership with Healthwatch Swindon, an independent organisation that listens to, acts upon and investigates patient concerns, comments, compliments and complaints.

Healthwatch Swindon has its own Patient Participation Group Forum, which is open to all people registered with a GP practice in Swindon or Shrivenham.

Share experiences of local services

Swindon CCG actively encourages people from across the town to share their experiences of local healthcare, particularly with regard to what worked well and what needs improving.

Patients can share their views by getting in touch with the CCG's Patient Advice and Complaints Team (PACT).

Contact information for the PACT team can be found by clicking here
